Wauchope Community Preschool
COMMITTEE’S WELCOME

The Committee would like to welcome you and your family to our community pre-school. Being a Community Pre-school means that we are a non-profit organisation, run by parents to provide the best available Preschool education for our 3-5 year olds.

The pre-school's first hard working Committee was formed in January 1972. The Preschool began taking children on Monday, 13 June 1972 at the Rotary Youth centre, Oxley Lane. After four years a grant of $60,000 was made by the Whitlam Government enabling the committee to build and equip today’s Tallowood Avenue building. Mr P.E. Lucock CBE MP officially opened the new building on 6 November 1976. In 1986, with Hastings Council’s permission to use a section of the park adjoining the playground, a second building was completed. In 1990 a lease for this land was taken out and approval granted for the second building to become permanent.

From its opening to this day the pre-school has continued to update and change in order to provide a high quality environment for our children. With excellent facilities and the hard work of our professional and dedicated staff, many happy children have pass through our doors.

We hope that you too will find our preschool to be a loving, happy and safe place for your child and that your whole family enjoys your time with us.
